You cannot know this. Being in possession of the stolen bike is sufficient evidence for a prima facie charge of larceny, which, depending on jurisdiction and other factors (including the value of the bike), could potentially result in jail time. We do not have enough information to give any other advice, and following any other advice is foolish. Only a lawyer licensed to practice in that jurisdiction can properly advice this person.
