Lighting question
I know this has probably been hammered before but I searched and couldn't find any specifics. Do the coil florescenceā??s work? I bought one to stick under some of the bottom leaves to give them a little extra light. Figured this might help. Got the one that said it was like "sunlight". 1800 lumens. I know an hps would be best, but am going to try to do it all with florescenceā??s.
Also does anyone have any info on using grow bulbs to flower with and what about cool white vs. warm florescence's? One better for flowering than the other? Yeah I know...nether one. But it's what I have.
Also here's a pic of my first grow. 33 days and I just started 12/12 as the bigger one hit 10" in height. Anyone have any idea what "race" this might be? Had some seeds and germed 'em and figured I might as well try.Marc Benson Reviewed by Marc Benson on . Lighting question
Whoops I forgot to say that there are two plants in this container. Just happened that way. They both got going and I just went with it. So far it looks ok. Maybe a little deficiency in the smaller plant but got that in check now. I also noticed that when I went to 12/12 that the newer leaves look a lighter green. Any specific reason this could be? Or just common?

Lighting question
Marc Benson,
I picked up several questions from your posts, I will try to address each one
Q) Do the coil florescenceā??s work
A) Yes they do but you need to find the ones with the highest lumens output possible. Also the high effecency ones will give you the best light penitration out of all the coil florescent lights (Also Known as Compact Flourecents)
Q) I am going to try and do it all with flourecents
A) If you have good coverage with the flourecents you can grow some decent buds. My first grow was will all tube florecents (10 Of Them) 400Watts/30,000 Lumans (Total of all 10 bulbs) and I had a decent grow but it takes alot of watts & lumans to get it doen with flourecents. That was for 4 plants also.
Q) Cool white vs. Warm florescence's
A) Cool White Flourecents have a blue spectrum to them which makes them a better choice for veg growth. The Warm Flourecents have more of a red spectrum which makes them better for flowering.
Q) Having 2 plants in same pot
A) This is usually not a good idea, I see you said it just happens so don't worry about it this time. Just try and make sure your furture grows, one pot - One Plant. At this point you want to make sure you have a really good size pot to put them in. I would say at least a 2 gallon - 5 gallon in order to give both plants the root room they will need to develop. Seperating them now would probably kill both of them.
Q) The newer leaves look a light lighter green.
A) I have found this to be typical of newer growth. Keep an eye on it, if the newer growth does not green up after a few days then you may have and issue with nuts or watering schedule.
I hope this was helpful information, I am still learning alot myself and was in your position about a year ago. There is alot of knowledge on these pages & threads but also alot of miss infromation. Stay in touch with people like Zandor & Harddon. They really know what they are doing.
Good Luck
