Fucked up plants

hey people, ok so wot has happened......well ive started 2 grow 4 mixed ak-48 seeds, been growin 4 a good week, thy have two tiny leaves each and are about 2-3 inches long each, then i put them under 400w HPS lights 4 a few hours and suddendly it looks like they are dying on me any1 know y?

they are in rockwool and i have rised the water level of the hydroponic system to the level of the rockwool, will that drown the plant?????

is it cuz i sud of grown em 4 longer than a week b4 puttin em under lights?

please help ima newbie.

u may have the lights too close to the plant, which can cook them... give us more details

Could you explain this in a little more detail? Are you growing ebb & flow?

im gowin my plants this type of way........

and i mean the water level is the same level as where the rock wool is, and i believe that is right, the 400w HPS light was aprox 1m away from the plants so ive prob fried them :S

any1 know the best way 2 recover them? or a good way to get your plant into flowering quickly please.

I see you are using a DWC bubbler. Your water level may be a little high.
At least your root ball is not soaked, or is it?
One of the problems you may be having is the Rockwool is always soaked with nutrients. Rockwool by design holds water close to the root ball. It even can hold the nutrients from day one, then you add nutrients from day 5 to the day 1 and so on and so on. There are build-ups nutrients in the Rockwool that can turn toxic and make the plant react like it was over watered. (In fact it is) Now your picture may not be exact but I get the idea, thank you.

How big of a piece of Rockwool are you using? Does it ever get a chance to dry out a little?

I hope your plants are still alive.
The light is 1 meter away, that's like 39". That's to far away you are only getting about 300-500 lumens to the plant. There is not enough light reaching the plant. A 400w light should be about 40 centimeters or 16". The closer the better with out getting the canopy to hot and burning leaves. You can get it as far away as 60 centimeters (24â?�) but not farther then that.

How about a few pics of the plant? If it's still around.

Thats aeroponics not rockwool.It's probably the light being too close or Nutrient deficiency.Possibly overflooding the roots.Maybe your watering too often...that causes root rot and will kill your plants.
Post a picture or noone can give you the right answer...
...right now everyone is just guessing and expiramenting with your plants is a very good way to kill them.So don't do anything till your sure what it is!!!

Thats aeroponics not rockwool.

? What are you talking about? Aeroponics are most associated with sprinklers watering from the underside and air stones are bubblers systems

You think a 400w HPS 39" above the plant is to close? I don't think so. That is only 300 to 500 lumens of light reaching the plant....do the math I=L/D²

well when i bought the light it says the light gives off 55,000 lumens of red and white light rays and thats wot i thought would be killing the plant bcoz i dont think that they have developed big enough leaves i mean the leaves are a max of 5-10mm long.

and yes im using a big piece of rockwool to put the plant in, its jus taht i grew the plant in rockwool.........fine...........then i put it under the lights.........fried.
