I'm fairly sure he can get all the neccessary equipment. he's good at that sort of thing . he just asked me to get some info. cool hope tohear from u guysftfwhen weleagalisewe take the next step

First of all it's never too late to start indoor grows because the light is artificial and for the seeds if it's a first grow I would suggest to him just your run of the mill bag seeds don't buy expensive seed bank seeds until he's done some trial and error. So good luck to him!

well in my point of view i think that first grow has to be done into soil either indoors or outdoors....keeping in my mind a high yield in my first attempt ever to grow cannabis, i have chosen to buy expensive seeds , not the most expensive anyway.....
mistake 1....(this saved the crop in the end), picked an outdoor strain to grow indoors
mistake 2....picked 2 different types of soil.....pure manure killed 2 of them, 3 of them propably turned hermies and gave some seeds (200-300 in total)......luckily the other type of soil (special for flowering plants like ie geranium) helped significantly the other 4 of them.....more or less in the end out of 4 medium sized&3 dwarf ladies had a total yield of around 600-650 gr in a grow area of 15sqft.....i consider this a successful first grow but given the fact that my ladies had all different sizes i think that smaller ,one sized, plants can fill up the horizontal space more efficiently if grown small.....maybe you wonder why i'm saying all these......sometimes you learn from your mistakes and some other times from other peoples' mistakes....as for what seeds are good to buy, tell your friend to go to www.overgrow.com , there he can find a strain which he/she likes.....moreover there are reports with photos and comments along with yields...after he/she has picked the strain safest and wisest thing to do is to get in touch with the breeder for the seeds......as for electrical equipment and stuff, just in case, visit www.insidesun.com.....i'm feeling like an advertiser now, bouhahahahahahahahaha i am toasted, hahahahahahahahahahahahahah again, up'n'high.........

c:in my opinion he should try to grow indicas first....indicas grow shorter than sativas....they are easy to grow & with proper conditions can give out a lot more than a sativa would give in the same amount of time......
i say all these from personal research i have made mainly reading grow reports on various strains at www.overgrow.com.....
dne of the best strains to grow indoors is white widow (powerful hit) and it's crosses, one of which i have picked myself for my next grow (Chrystal by Nirvana)......just a thought

that's the good spirit i guess, the one i follow anyway....what you pay is what you get and your input on the growing process is rewarded better in the end if you combine it with a good strain.....personally i would never get to grow some ordinary bag-seeds, even now that i have some seeds from my first grow i would not use them....nahhhh!
anyway, i hope your friend picks what he thinks is right for him/her, as a newbbie it's normal to make mistakes...when in doubt for anything don't hesitate to ask

Just a little obscure tid-bit. Its better that he will miss the summer heat. It complicates indoor growing.
