yeah, that's just the essentials in the peppermint though, what they're talking about is a grocery store-bought peppermint extract that uses pure ethanol to extract flavors from the peppermint plant...usually, that alcohol is cooked off of your food when you actually use it to cook...but if you just drink the stuff without using it to cook, you actually ingest the alcohol...the crystals thing you're talking about sounds like just essentials from the plant, god knows how that's extracted, probably bulk-extracted with alcohol, and then they probably let the alcohol evaporate off and then probably let the water evaporate off that's left behind....i imagine that would make crystals since plants do store sugars, which do crystallize under certain conditions, much like making rock candy

i make that mintini out of BOSTON peppermint schnapps from the liquor store, though i'd imagine the extract would be the same except you'd have to add a LOT of sugar to it, add the sugar to it at room temperature and shake it in for about 30 minutes and it'll eventually dissolve....that shit would be bitter without it though because they don't put sugar in it...

an even better twist would be to add chocolate syrup and stir well, mocha mintini....

yeah, well they're all pretty strong, that's the idea, a drop of that kind of flavoring will actually flavor your whole recipe when you cook with it...it's not really for drinking...you need to dilute it heavily with some soda (pop for those who live elsewhere) and drink it pretty fast if you expect to get drunk...personally i'd rather wait til i turned 21 and go to the liquor store...or get someone to get it for me...your drug dealer would be a good alcohol source...

haha i don't reccomend the mint extract lol unless you mix it with something then iunno cuz i just took it as a shot. Yah that shit is hard to keep down and looked liked it was dissolving the foam cup it was in lol...neways it was fun being drunk at work for like 20 minutes...
