    Just another newbie needing help

Hi, I have recently set-up a grow room. I have 10 plants that are 5 weeks old and 3 that are 4 days old. I am growing some plants in a homemade bubbler and the rest in a drip system. I am using Dyna-Gro Liquid grow plant food 7-9-5 for vegetative growth. Also 3 weeks into growth I overfed and burned some of the plants but they have recovered well. Now, I am having some of the leaves curl up. Looks really weird, not sure if its a deficiency, overfed, too much heat.. not sure. The temperature was getting up to about 92, but 3 days ago I installed a cooler that is making the room about 83 degrees. Here are some pics. The main plant you are looking at with the curled leaves is White Widow. Also in the mix is Durban Poison, Sex from THC laboratories and Island Lady. Thanks for any help in advance.

i think it's probably heat stress, so if you lowered the temp it should fix it's self....if not maybe underwatering, but i kinda don't think so. see if it gets better now that you have the cooler.

Its not heat stress, if it was the leafs would be getting overly large. Incase I could be wrong, you should be running a fan in there if you're growing 10 plants.

I have a fan running all the time. It can't be underwatering since the leaves that are curling up are in the bubbler. (They grow in water) I have a 1000 watt HPS about 2 feet above the plants in order to get light to all of the plants.

I had the same thing happen at about 2 weeks on some clones.Mine didn't look quite as bad. I put in some epson salt for mag dificiency and backed off my 400 HPS to 3 feet. It helped a little bit. A week later I got a 400 MH conversion bulb and lowered the light back down to 1 1/2 feet away. They look much better now, I got them in a small drip system. Got pic's in the hydro section. I wish I had of taken pic's of the curling. I have cal mag on the way just in case. what's your PPM and PH. I got northern lights and the dyna grow too.

I just changed my res water and the leaves are starting to curl up just a bit on some. No epson salt this time, may be mag dificency. cal mag on the way. Did you do anything ? and is it helping ?

I don't have a tds meter, but I ordered one and it will be here by monday. It has been around 82 degrees, but still have more curling and even some slight discoloration. Small patches on the leaves that are lighter than others. Obviously some deficiency. I just dont' want to accidently burn the leaves like I did last time. Maybe I should try some foliage spraying. But, I read somewhere that I can burn the leaves since the water droplets act as magnifying glass. And the lights are on 24 hours right now. I'm afraid my plants are going to be ruined by the time I get this tds meter.

Your temp sounds good. The ppm can get ya and your ph. Maybe it will get here in time. Your ph you can check with swimming pools supply or fish tank supply they are cheap kits. Oh what kind of water are you using ? I use distilled that I make my self and I read that not only is the ph very low that important minerals are missing and not in good amounts in the plant food. I use dyna gro and the calcium and magnesium are very low in the grow and bloom formulas. I hope this helps. Mine are getting a touch more curl today. Come on cal-mag.

I do check the ph. The ph is about 6.0. I use regular tap water, but I let it sit out for 24 hours before I use it. So you think that the dyna grow doesn't have all the nutrients? My plants are drinking a couple gallons of water day. Its crazy. I know its not evaporation, because I had to add a little water when the plants were smaller, but now, about 2 gallons to my big resevoir a day and 1 gallon to my drip system.

I read through again and you have HPS light. Try backing that way off. The leaves can do that to try and save water. Or could be a nutes lock up. When you get the tds pen you will know about the water. My tape water is 200 but 200 what ? I would switch to RO or distilled. May be Zandor will help you. If you go distilled sears sells 2 kinds I have the small one and I can keep up. Oh 3 gallons a day you might need 2.
