Question on vege, and flowering cycle.

How long does it usually take for the vege cycle to be through, and hit the flowering cycle with a 400 watt sodium light? Anybody know? Getting ready to start my grow sometime later this month when I get the 400watt, just curious.

From seeds?
About 3-week in the seedling stage.
Then 30-45 day's in the vegetation cycle.
Then another 45-60 for the flower cycle.
That is just average and different strains have different cycles as much as 3 weeks or more over the life cycle of the plant.

Hey zandor, or anyone else, umm, about 4 weeks into the growth I plan on using fertilizer, and was wondering how much I should fertilize it per week? or per two weeks?

Guys...

If you are growing in great soil or grow medium, you should never have to fert at all during veg....up to 30 days.

Maybe a little high nitrogen like 5-1-1 or 11-4-1 AFTER week 3 or 4. Just a little. But never fert before week 3 is FINISHED!

And if your plant is smaller or runty because of light, all the nutes in the world wont help it grow any better!

The beauty of the soil indoor grow is that you dont have to add jack shit if you dont want to.

Hydro and bubbler are of course different, but, great soil has plenty of nutes in it already.

When you add nutes, you alter the chemical composition of the grow medium and thus alter the chemistry and hormonal balance of the plants.

Since it is soil, you would need very expensive equipment to anaylze the make up of the soil...not worth it.

Play it safe...

Use great grow medium (I still swear by PRO-MIX), never add anything until AT LEAST week 3 is over, and then, add small amounts (about 1/4 or 1/2 of recommended dosage) once per week.

Over ferting will kill faster than under nuting ever will.

Go to the kitty litter box and grab a chunk of cat shit.

Fucking pure nitrogen can be harmful if mishandled.

I never said take the cat shit and eat it, taste is or let your pregnant wife handle it.

You can get that disease from bat guano, rodent shit, deer shit and bullshit.

They only make a big deal of it cuz more people have cats in their homes than bats or cows.

The odds of getting anything are about the same as if some guy was having sex with another guy...like an uncle or someone.
