Lots'a questions about growing...
Hey everyone. Get ready to put up with alot of questions... I'm a newb to growing. I am growing my first seed(s) as of today... My last bag that I bought has quite a few seeds in it, so I decided to take liberty of my time and save some money by growing! I know, from going around the net all day, what needs to go into growing one of these, I just need a few detailed things answered. Ok lets start:
1.) What is the mother plant? How do I make one?
2.) What happenes if I end up with a male plant or two? Do I NEED to fertilize the female plant?
3.) When can I start using fertilizer?
4.) I want to keep my plants kinda small... how do I go about doing this? I heard depriving it of light will help me do this. But I want a very full plant if you know what I mean. What do I do?
5.) Can I have more than one plant in a pot?
6.) Can I use regular planting soil?
7.) Are these plants like one time use only? Meaning, does it grow all of its buds only once and then die? Is there a way to keep the plant living and producing?
8.) what is cloning? how do I do it?
9.) When am I aloud to use my plant?
10.) what do I do so I don't get caught by parents?
lol. Thanks for the help guys! Please help me out, even if you don't know all the answers, answer as much as possible plz!

2) The male plant is not really worth growing these days. If you spot a male plant in the grow room pull it. You do NOT want it to polinate (fertilize) your female plants. It will make them seedy as hell and not produce as much.
3) Start ferts no earlier than 3-4 weeks into the grow. Most store bought soil already has ferts in it so you should wait until the 4th week of growth. Specially since you are just starting out.
4) To keep you plant small you really have 2 choices. A - You can bend and tie the plants over to keep the height down. (See ealier post about bending vs pruning for more information.) B - Get a strain of seed that has a low growth height. Something like a Lowrider or Loweridger Hybrid.
5) 1 Plant Per Pot. The root system of the plant needs space and you dont' want 2 plants root systems geting all tangled up. This is really a mess when you go to transplante (Create to much shock to the plant) Stick with this rule.
6) Any basic store bought premixed soil will do well for just starting out, I have used MG Soil, Scotts & another one all with good resulst at this point. Just make sure you get a well draining soil.
7) The natural cycle of a mg plant is to grow once bair its fruits and then dye off. Now it is possible to reveg a plant but I would wait and try that process after getting a grow or 2 under your belt.
8) Cloning is a method of reproducing another plant without starting from a seed. You can basically take a cutting of an existing establish plant (Typically a mother plant) and then root that cutting into a clone. Then grow the clone as normal. Please read some of the threads on thist topic for there are many methods to use.
9) You are allowed to use your plant at any time, however you typically want a plant to veg grow for approx 45 - 60 Days at an 18hour on 6 hour off schedule (18/6) and then switch them to flower after the 45-60 days. A flowering light cycle consisting of 12 hours on 12 hours off (12/12) would be recomended. Since you want to keep your plant size small I would suggest starting the flowering process around the 40 - 45 day mark.
Do not pick any of the buds from sampling until after the 4 week of flowering mark. Otherwise you will be wasting it. (See Tric Development & Harvest Time Threads for more information)
10) I cannot recommend you growing in your parents house without their permission and I don't think you will get that in this case. You need to realize that your parents are responsible for what you do in there house. If this is something you are going to proceed with here is also what you need to think about.
-Parents ever go in that space, Laundery, clothers.....
-The smell will get strong when you go to flowering, you will need to vent that space to outside and/or get an active charcol filtering system to clean the smell from the air.
-Light leaks from around the grow space when the light is on....
-Lots of issue to consider, make sure you take the correct measures of caution if you are going to proceed.
I hope this helped
Good Luck

Lots'a questions about growing...
How many seeds should one person plant to get one plant growing, a couple?, 2-3 in one pot?
What do you mean by "veg grow" on a 18/6 schedule?
I am now getting into growing, thinking about growing my own, and willing to learn some shit.

Lots'a questions about growing...
I know that I should water my plant when ever the surface is dry, and to keep it moist...common sense...but, how many times should I fertilize it after 4 weeks into growth, how many times per day? or if not that, how many times within a week?

And also, I hear eco-grow is a great fertilizer for Marijuana, doesn't make the soil high in acidity which usually prompts for a boy, instead of a girl...I think...Anyways, someone get back to me on this...

Actually never thought of that, when are the plants male/female when the seeds formed or is it like guru said through conditioning?
