Bush Listens to Senators on Court Vacancy
" President Clinton actually offered it to somebody who was not a judge, and that person decided not to accept it. And that's one consideration, and we discussed that thoroughly," Leahy added.
He called on Bush to nominate someone who would bridge ideological divides in the nation.
"Let's seek somebody that would unite us, all of us, in the Senate first and foremost, but then in the American public, in such a selection," he said. "I think that it can be done. I hope that it will be done."

The fine people that voted in Leahy need to re-evaluate their position next time at the polls!Psycho4Bud Reviewed by Psycho4Bud on . I'll go with middle of the road on both. To far right is just as dangerous as to far left. Somebody out of the loop that would interpret the law the way our Forefathers intended would be a nice change.
