Whatever you may think, there is an unavoidable tradeoff between security and privacy. I agree with you that the current state of affairs is largely unacceptable, but I expect things to settle down in a few years. In any case, if anyone wants to spy on my email, they're welcome to it. It'll probably put them to sleep.

Bear in mind that much of the Patriot I and II acts that are driving such legislation have not been tested in the Supreme Court. I fully expect that when they are, much of the teeth of both will be pulled.

Email spying 'could have stopped killers' so basically, having no property rights and no privacy is needed to keep us safe from terrorists. the terrorists hate our freedom, so let's give up our freedom so the evil muslims don't cut all of our heads off. no privacy is good too. it's necessary to fight terrorism. you know, if we all had cameras in our houses and had to answer to big brother every day...there would be no terrorism. so let's line the pockets of our gracious leaders who love us, while accepting dictatorship to be Rating: 5
