What could be the cause...
Guess you could say Im sort of new to this whole game, but because of my consumption of the blessed herb, I decided to give the grow thing a try. I purchased two different strains from Nervana. One is Northern Lights that I chose because of ease of grow and the other was one I tried while in Amsterdam witch is Ice... They seem to be coming along fairly well except for what would appear to be burning or drying as well as yellowing at the tips of the leaves... The other just doesnt seem to want to get out of its relaxed state... Guess you could say its stoned before it could even produce any THC... I hope thats a good thing when it comes time to harvest... I got them growing under a 1000w MH thats about 2 feet from thier face and have the room at about 90f... Not sure if its due to the nutrients Im using, so I ordered a 3 pack of GH Flora... If the pictures arent good enough to tell what the trouble could be, I could take more, just let me know... They are both at about 3 weeks and I have 4 more getting ready to join them in the party room... Would like to know if this is normal or if Im missing something... Would hate for this to be something bad and have it spread to the others... Any help would be a good thing so feel free to advise...

dont know much about hydro but i know one good thing about it is you dont
have to guess on nutes, you put in what works n your good.
as for temp 90f is a lil high ,are you sure thats the highest temp you get in a day?when you said "appears to be drying" makes me think the temp is getting to high.its good to get a high/low thermometer ,it will record the highest the temp gets in a day,
you just have to reset it after you check it.90f wont kill them but much more than that n you start getting problems.i think i would try to find a way to bring the temp down to around 80 at least.
good luck peaceStrawberry cough is my new favorite medicine :stoned:

Yeah... The problem with that is that the room is next to where I store my solar energy... There is a door that leads outside in the next room and I am going to start opening it during the day because thats when it appears to get the hottest in there... At night Im going to leave the dog door open with the fan running in hopes of cooling the room further... Anyone have any futher ideas please let me know...

add co2, with that your plants will be able to support themselves under hot temps.....also....from the photos i see your plants are a little bit small and maybe droopy....the leaves seem a little droopy to me.....what is the humidity rate in your room? normally into vegetation you should have a humidity rate of 60-70%.....another thought i have is that you may need to add a fan to blow air to your plants and move your light a bit further from your plants....i think a 1000 watt light is too big and too close for plants of this size.....

I would say definitly add a fan if your plants are burning, especially at that size because its crucial that it gets the nutrient supply. I cant wait to see how this goes for you man, keep to the forums and your plants stay GREENER than gold its self.

Nut burn is what it looks like to me. Are you using the fully recommended dose of Flora series? Also, a fan in the room to strengthen the stalks are a good idea to. I would clip the brown dead tips only. Don't pull the leaf, just clip off the dried part. This will prevent the dryness from spreading. How often are you watering them? With 90 degree room, they will need more water to recover from the dehydration the heat may be causing. What's your ppm level? Also, ph? Whatever they may be, your plants look pretty healthy. You need to get your nut level down, or water more often to compensate for the heat. Another possibility is that your plants were not receiving all the (N) and other nuts they needed before and your Flora Series will provide. I dilute all of my Grow, Bloom, and Micro. Are you adding your micro and bloom bossters first? This can be a problem. The micro must be put in the water first.
Good growing

I just started using gh 3 part flora series nutes on my hydro plants and they did the same thing your plants are doing. It is nute burn, back off on the nutes and only go 1/4 to 1/2 strength untill they get used to the strong nutes...some people say they never have the problem but since I started using these nutes I have found many people with the same problem. I was going by the direction on the feeding schedule offered by GH...Seems to me they need to do more research on nutes with MJ...lmao

I went from three week old soil plants to hydro ..I think that is why the where getting burnt they were not used to the heavy dose of food...the seem to be doing better now that i backed of nutes a little wish i had a digital cam to show off plants....thanks hippie for the advise earlier... wasn't for U and Zandor would be plant less..lol
