if this is a soil grow... then yes, it's probably too early to start ferts.. wait at least until the plant is at it's 2nd or 3rd node.
hydro? ... not sure.. haha i need to read up on hydroAs we live...a life of ease. Everyone of us...has all we need. Sky of Blue...and Sea of Green. In our Yellow Submarine.

I agree with BobBong.
On soil grows, dont fert at least until the pea pod halves that first emerged on dead and gone.
Hydro?
Not for me yet.

sounds like good advice .The only thing i would add is that you use a very weak solution when you start to feed .

normally if you put your plants into BIG pots (soil growth) you would not need to feed them anything during vegetation.....however it is wise to give them 1/4-1/2 strength of ferts after the 3rd week of vegetation.....the plant will tell you when it needs to be fed....normally it shows N-defficiency by yellowing the first set of leaves that are at the bottom....then you know it's time to fert!!!!!!
Take a look at your plants closely and carefully....they will show you what they need!!!!
