Snopes...

...Beeblebrox mentioned a site earlier called Snopes. Being bored, I checked it out and found it quite interesting. I browsed it for a while, and looked through the photographs section (photographs which have been circulating the internet which people have doubts about their athenticity... Scopes tries to find out the real story behind them). I clicked a link without reading it, which was really fucking stupid, because on the page it took me there was a video, so I hit play (again, without fucking reading anything on the page), and the video started to play. It showed a small room - which I later discovered to be a cell or an interview room at a police station - with a table and chair, and then a guy who appears to be a cop brings in another guy in handcuffs and sits him down. Then he undoes the handcuffs, puts his keys and a couple of things on the table, then leaves to get the guy who was in handcuffs a bottle of water. The guy takes a sip of the water, reaches in to his pants, pulls out a gun, puts the lid back on the bottle of water and shoots himself in the head. I can't describe how sick I feel.

In case anyone wants to find the site, it's called Snopes, not Scopes. And this is the story in question, which Snopes says is true. Man, those cops fucked up. Bringing a guy into the police station with a freaking gun in his pocket? Wow. That's incompetent.

That mother fucker was probably on this third strike in Cali.. Didn't wanna go back to the joint . I've seen that video a few times before. I don't find it disturbing. Well, I don't find many things disturbing, I watched an autopsy video while eating some fruit loops and a bagel and didnt get sick. :P

I could be a police officer and have no problem going to all the car crashes and shit and seeing the mangled bodies, that wouldn't affect me one bit.
What would effect me is the family or whatever afterwards crying and shit. that shit really fucks with me.

I saw that exact video and watched it like 5 times. i wasn't as much grossed out as i was perplexed becasue it was so weird.

Yeah, it was really wierd... Like the explanation of the video said, what's wierd is that it's nowhere near as glamorous as the stuff we see in movies. The guy isn't shaking or nervous, he's not crying.. he just pulls out the gun, puts the cap back on the water bottle, and blows himself away. Even the way he dies isn't as glamorous as we would have imagined. It's all just so.... mundane?

I know you probably think i'm a pussy for being so disturbed by this video, but people here who know me will understand, I think. lol

If that video bothered you that much, you definitely want to stay away from ogrish.com. Trust me on this. It's like Faces of Death on steroids. Among other things, they have the video of the terrorists beheading that poor guy last year.

I kinda understand how some people can watch that once, just for the 'experience' (I guess), but I would never do it myself.. All those kinds of videos would do is upset me, so i'd rather not even watch them once. There must be some people, though, who enjoy those types of things........ But to each his own, I guess?
