"The same year, another deformed kitten came to my attention when a stray cat and her kittens were reported to us. One kitten, Sophia had a serious deformity. At 6 weeks of age, she had the front half of a normal kitten and the back half of a newborn kitten. A well-meaning person persuaded their vet to splint the legs in the hope of having them surgically corrected later, but the defect included the tail and bowel (Sophia did not produce normal stools, only a sort of brown, poorly set jelly). but every.... and I do mean every modern house cat has been bred the same way. Why do you think we have so many different shaped, colored, and sized ones? And humans did do that... unless you think god created an exact replica of you. Do you think dwarf humans shouldn't breed? Thats basically what your saying.... And what does that have to do with munchkin cats ghosttoker?

Perhaps you could read my posts after that. At the point you quoted, I had thought we were still discussing Bonsai Kittens, which are obvious fakes. Just 'cause BlueCat got her undies in a twist (ha!) doesnt' mean everyone has to. If you're gonna berate me for not reading the entire thread, then you can do the same, at least.

I read the entire thread and you still seemed adamant that you are right and anybody who disagrees is wrong. You obviously don't have a problem with this sort of thing, judging by one of the comments you made ("Dontcha know it's WRONG to breed weiner dogs, cass? That long body is unnatural and EEEEEEEEEVIL."), and what aggravated me is the fact that you of all people should take the piss out of people because of something they believe in or feel strongly about.

Look, Beeblebrox.. I'm sorry for mouthing off in my forst post. Personally I think you're one of the most respected and respectful members, and I really don't want to start arguing with you, but I will if I have to because this kind of thing (and the people who think it's no big deal) really gets to me.

I realize that that some people feel strongly about these kinds of things. I had hoped that with some education, they wouldn't feel quite AS bad. I do know something about this subject and was trying to share that knowledge. Apparently, I was wrong and ignorance prevails. So be it.

I don't really believe that breeding any animal to tailor them to suit your preferences is right at all, but in this case the animals are being bred to have deformities from birth, deformities which seriously effect their quality of life. I will always believe that humans and all creatures are equal, and that we have no right to try and control the natural order of things.. but usually it's relatively harmless, this time it's not.
