Yesterday, I bought some stuff at Lowes (a hardware/home improvement megastore). Around dinner time, a telemarketer called me up to administer a survey pertaining to my Customer Service experience there. Now, this pissed me off, because I was never informed on the receipt or by a salesperson that I was entering into a contract that essentially waived my status on the Do-Not-Call registry because I was patronizing their establishment. I figured once my cash left my hand and went into their cash drawer, our business was done. If they told me that they'd knock off a few bucks if I agreed to take a phone survey later, that's one thing, but dammit, I already paid for my freakin' paint roller, so just leave me be!
The telemarketer did speak english, though, so I guess that's a plus. I spoke German for most of the conversation, so they hung up pretty quickly, which was even better. I'm not completely fluent in german, but I can say a bunch of nonsensical gibberish like "The chickens are driving trucks to the party on this day, my friend!". That gets rid of them pretty quickly.
