Well..hopefully you and the other british members of this forum can sort out the messages of support from all the other posts that frankly are completely, for lack of a better word, bullshit..(bollocks).

To other posters: c'mon, no one wants to hear your opinions about why this happened and most of you have a very poor grasp of what is really happening in the world. So why don't you just state your support for our British friends out there and keep everything else to yourself because it's not helping anyone affected by the bombings who have lost loved ones.

We lived through 9/11 and we should remember how it felt.

Does anyone know whether an Al-Qaida link has been officialy established? There are so many candidates as well. The IRA have a history here, as well as anti-globilization extremists (although they are rarely known to be violent).

I'm as angry as any leftist is about the British government's presence in the War on Iraq. However, the blame for this attack lies with no one but the murderous people who have perpetrated it. The government is not to blame for this act.

An Al-Qaeda group based in Europe has claimed responsibility.

That has not been verified but this attack has all the hallmarks of an Al-Qaeda operation as opposed to the IRA or any of it's splinter groups.

I agree with motahead & blue cat, & extend heartfelt sympathies to all our Brit friends.

C'mon, how would we have reacted immediately post-9/11 if people jumped on our government? At the very least, winced in regret, & at the most, perhaps a bunch of patriotic nuts would've formed a lynch mob. And regardless of the political issues, in terrorist attacks it's hardly ever the people they are actually angry at that are killed (political figures, etc.). No, instead it's the ordinary people just minding their own business that are the victims.
