Hey CCP,

I know it probaly won't be too much of a help, but I wanted to share a number of events I had in the second part of last year. I live in Florida, and if you will recall, last August & September we got a few storms. I happend to live right under the path of 2 of the 4 that hit Florida.

So at the end of August my live-in girlfrind of 4 years told me to get out of the house. A week later we were hit by the first storm. We were without electricity for two weeks. It had been restored for only 3 days when the next storm hit. For the entire month of September we had electricity for only 7 days.

I ran my own business out of my house, and the lack of electricity and inability to tend to things caused the business to fail. I then found a job, 80 miles from my home. Not that big a deal, since I had to get out of my current residence anyway, but on my the way home my first day I totaled my car. This happend in the middle of October.

In November, my mother died of cancer.

By the end of November, I was feeling pretty much like you do right now. I wish I could tell you that things have become all sunshine and daises, but the truth is life is still pretty frustrating.

It does have it's moments though. I am dating someone new. Every now and then I get hooked up with some really killer weed. I have spent a lot of time working on my poker game, and I am winning consistently now. I have also managed to save up enough to buy a new Nikon digital SLR.

The way I look at it, as people, we are little more than the collection of experinces we have had. One can't always control the pieces he has to put into the mosaic, but how we put them together to make the picture is up to us.

I don't expect this will make you feel any better, and I didn't even really intend it to. I just thought it might provide some perspective. Everyone has shit to get thorugh every day. Some days (and even months or years) there is a whole lot more shit to get through than others. Just remeber that there are things in life that make it all worth while, and if you want to get to them, you gotta plow through the shit.
