It's kids movies that are most relevant to Maiden's point.
Think about 'A Bug's Life' and how the ants act and behave like people. They have human-like opinions on "ant matters" like how dangerous the outside world is (some ants want to discover it, others say they shouldn't think about it) and how they hate being ruled over by grasshoppers. The producers could have made an hour and a half of filthy insects scurrying around but the approach taken makes for a pretty interesting perspective. It's dumb and childish to the closed-minded individual but I share maiden's fascination (if you will) on the imagination behind such concepts. The same for Toy Story and Osmosis Jones, I think they're great movies in the way they take simple formulas (ie. if toys were alive) and create them in the way they do. I dunno, I just appreciate stuff like that.
