i don't think you can get poisoned, but you can get nauseous from it. The purpose of heating it in a frying pan is to drive off all the moisture. THC molecules are situated with water molecules in the bud, and it is more active without the water, so you dry it out completely before eating it. This automatically happens when you smoke it, but before you cook it you should dry it out.
