Newbiest Newb to Ever Newb Growing

Okay, so my third NEWB don't make sense. Anyway, I'm just here for your guys and gals opinions on some really good sites that give really good information on growing. I know absolutely nothing (read: idiot) about growing, and I would just like to have some good, quality information on growing for when I start.

I really want to grow, and I have some seeds here (don't know what they are, sorry) and I want to just try an experiment to see if I can get anything at all to grow. I'm not really expecting anything to really...ya know, grow. I just want to see if I can get one to start, ya know?

    Anyway, any help appreciated!!

Gothen: If you are going to start seeds you may want to use a method I use with great success. Go to your local farmers market and buy baskets of overripe fruit, put it in a pile on a platter or other bowl type of container, set an oscillating fan behind it blowing toward where the plants will be. Place one seed each, (pointed end up-one inch deep), in each eight inch planter and set your lights to 18 on and 6 off. Don't turn the fan off or the fruit flies will appear. It is better if this is done in the room where you sleep so the plants get the benefits of the carbon dioxide you breathe out; they'll give you oxygen in return. Don't worry that the pile of fruit shrinks into a rotting pile of fur, this is what is supposed to happen. In a month or so you can take cuttings and sex them in a bubbler. Post your email if you want to communicate that way. Good luck.

I heard a good method of germinating seeds is to take a nice hot steamy dump on a plate, replace all the nuts with seeds, and blow on it continuously for a week with your own mouth, works like a charm...

Yea whats up with the fruit man?
