Sentinel has it right. Unless you are willing to keep this thing going until it goes too far then your best bet might be to just not be where they are waiting for you to show.
It sounds like a silly territorial thing that wont go away with pepper spray. Sure that would be goddamn satisfying to spray some goof after the crap you and your mates take but it would likely be short lived.
I am in Canada and I only speak through my own experiences and what I have read of the situation with youth gangs in UK. You live there and have said yourself that the likely event would be retalliation from them as a large group. You would need to answer with more of the same. Where would it end?
Be the bigger man, realise that life is full of assholes ,and no matter what you will never get rid of them. You can choose to battle them all in vain or to coexist. Its not runnin off or being a nancy or wimp...its more like acknowledging and respecting the fact that a mans body doesnt always have what it takes to act out what is in the heart and mind.
You're mad, insulted, intimidated, frustrated etc. and the old testosterone is kickin in telling you to attack. My advice, only do so if you can do it with no weapons. Its more mature ( read :'manly') to avoid a fight you know you will lose than it is to go out looking to put a hurt on someone with a weapon.

I wonder what would happen to the world if people keeps on being more violent and police can't keep order or refuse to keep order. May be there would only be orders for few and they will be kept safe by police.
I'm thinking that humans are very violent and they won't stop till we all hurt each other. Hey I hope there is some way we can live happlily together or seperately.

thanks all for your kind posting, yeah i agree weapons may be in order but bcoz i live with my folks i dont think a gun wud b appropriate :P so i had a look on some websites and i saw telescopic police batons which looked reli kool, pepper spray, knives, swords and tasers etc

I'd hope not. I am a gun owner, but I don't carry a firearm, I carry pepper spray. I works great! I just don't want to put myself in a situation where I would be forced to kill a person.

I killed a frog an hour ago *proud*
I shot it in the stomach in mid-air when it jumped, (with my .177 air rifle) and it did a couple of flips and landed on the floor, still moving, so i shot it twice in the chest, killing it, then another 5 times to make sure, because it was windy and it's legs were blowing and i thought it was alive hehe. I felt kind of bad after the first shot, but i have been looking for one to shoot for a year now, and this is the first shot i managed to get at one, so i took it.
oh by the way, i didn't leave it after the first shot, i felt bad so shot it twice more in like 10 seconds (so not much pain)
Some may think "Cruel bastard" but it was fun so i don't mind the comments

*eats frog* i was sitting on the wall in the garden, shooting at targets and stuff, and it was right behind me and staring at me, so i thought, "ooo you're gonna die bitch" so i bust a cap in it's ass, sue me hehe,
but yeah sorry, it won't happen again (ok maybe once more)
