BluntArtist, your avatar makes me wonder what would happen if I fed my dog a shroom or two...

Anyway, dictionary.com sez:

drug
n.

1.
1. A substance used in the diagnosis, treatment, or prevention of a disease or as a component of a medication.
2. Such a substance as recognized or defined by the U.S. Food, Drug, and Cosmetic Act.
2. A chemical substance, such as a narcotic or hallucinogen, that affects the central nervous system, causing changes in behavior and often addiction.
3. Obsolete. A chemical or dye.

"A chemical substance that affects the CNS, causing changes in behavior and [knuckle under to gov't policy here]." Now, some would say that AIR does these things as well, but I'd say that since marijuana is classified as a hallucinogen (rightly or wrongly, but I say rightly) it's technically a drug.

I'd also say it's kind of a miracle, since there's tons of plants out there and it's the only one that does what it does, just by chance, and it just happens to exist as a bit of a bonus to all of us on earth.

So is it a drug? Yes. A miracle drug.
