I just began my first grow. It was actually kind of a joke at first i just threw some bagseed between a couple of paper towels and kept it wet for a few days and "voila" roots appear. I planted two seeds each in a 12 oz. dixie cup. They just sprouted today and i'm looking for a light to get both of them through their entire life cycle (veg, flower). Right now i have only about 50 watts of fluoro light on them and i was looking at buying this. http://www.bghydro.com/BGH/itemdesc....CFD150&eq=&Tp=

I was just wondering if this would work, or if someone could reccomend another light(s) for under $200, i'm on a tight budget.

That light will work wonders for you in veg state.

It will provide enuff light for prolly 2 -3 plants for 3 weeks...

Two of those lights would be better and will work for maybe 4 plants for 1 month...

But once you get larger containers for your plants.....

After that, it wont be enuff.

I say buy one or two of those and then visit a sponsor who advertises HPS for 80.00 or so.

    You want HPS for flower.

You can veg and flower under the same lighting, but flowering will be very slow and the buds will turn out kind of wispy and light. If you're after just to gain some experience and knowledge, then yes, go for it!
