We have a responsibility to protect those who can't protect themselves... the children. People's definition of protection and children etc varies. I think its noble that people care about the children, at the same time, best intentions of mice and man... Fundamentally I think almost all of us want the samething, good things for the ones we love, but we get caught up in peripherals.

I agree with you though jim... best to be open and honest with the kids. I don't think that means pass them the j, but it certainly doesn't mean flat out lieing. I'm not a parent though

i am a parent and the only thing kids need is to know is you love them unconditionaly and that they are secure and that what you tell them is the truth if you lie to your kids about one thing they will not believe about others it also teaches them lying is an acceptable practice when you tell a kid cannibis is as dangerous as coke or dope and they find out it is not they will assume that they were lied to about one so they were prob. lied to about the other and we all know where using coke and dope leads and that place is one i never want my children to go or any one elses for that matter i wouldnt wish that on any one

that makes no sense. if really want your kids tog row up to have a 100% chance of living a healthy, non law complicated, fufilling life, ruling out natural occurances of cancer and things like that, then its best to not let them do drugs at all. Saying Ill tell them its ok to do weed is a ridiculous argument. Your kids will probably think, my dad is just some fuckin stoner, hes not gunna care if i try other drugs. ill do what i want. its like telling your kids that they are allowed to do illegal things. Even tho many of us believe smoking marijuana is harmless when used by responisble individuals, it is what not allowing pot to be smoked stands for that is the issue, no pot itself. Your kids will come to that realization on there own and make there own decisions. Its best to keep them sober and try to put them on a clean path, because seriously, if they can live without it, theres no reason why they need to smoke pot or for you to tell them its ok to do so.
