    White Black White?

Was wondering if anyone can help? I went to buy some Mylar the other day and was told that if my growroom isn't totally free from outside light then Mylar is pointless. The guy said that you need to put white black white on 1st to make sure all gaps from external light are covered and then put Mylar on. Any advice much appreciated

I never heard that before. If you are trying to use Mylar as a wall I guess he is right.

You can use the black/white Polly as a wall. I've seen it many times as room dividers. I guess that is what he must have been thinking. Mylar does have a transparent element to it anyway.

Way to many people freak out if there is even the sliest amount of light that gets through. It's more about the lumens and not just the white light anyway. Itâ??s not like a few seconds or even a few minuets of light will shock the plant. They are stronger then that, and a little light leak will not have as much affect on a plant as most people think. Itâ??s not like a little leak will have enough lumens to affect much if anything of the plant. Total dark is great but itâ??s not going to wreck the plant or even affect the final harvest if there is a little light leak.

Just to put things into a little perspective for you dude.

I thought he was just trying to make some cash. My growroom has minute gaps but don't think there's anything to worry about. Thanks a lot for your views zandor & unmeg - they make much more sense than wot that guy in the shop said. Will ignore the 'white black white' idea!!!

    the black/white panda plastic is nice though...$90 for 10'x100' @ hydro store...IMHO
I use it with one of those stick on zipper doors...I'm light tight and have easy access

I like the idea of a plastic wrap around the mylar just to create a better hotroom effect. Also contains moisture and blocks light more effectively.
