I live in the UK too and have seen CFL's in Homebase, but think u can get em in Wickes, B&Q and all places like that - don't think garden centres sell em though, and if they do they're prob well overpriced. Hope that's helped

Best low cost True Full Spectrum CFL you can buy.

No mogul socket required....low heat output...can be mounted base up.

    Very very good lights...

    A HARD ON "BEST BUY"

Two of these for each sq. ft. of grow space for veg will produce thick, full, dense, short internodal foilage and completly prep for flower time.

During flower, lights are moved to lower sections to create intense flower action on low portions of plants.

I found 45watt at walmart for 8 bucks each...they are spiral bulbs, soft white, maybe not the best, but better than nothing...I put mine among the lower vegitation as side lighting help for 400mh/250hps uptop...these bulbs with builtin ballast are about a foot long

Yea most bigger hardware stores will have them, just cruise through the Lamp and Bulb section, you should find a couple different ranges of wattage

So can you just plop these massive bulbs in a light socket or a lamp base or what have you? Or do these lamps or sockets needed to be rated up to 200W? Or just the 42 that these say they draw?

If they say they draw 42 watts then make sure whatever you're screwing them into can handle 42 watts.

That other number doesn't really mean anything.
