Some people are always gonna be ignorant and hatefull. You need to try to ignore them, or disassociate them from your life. What you should care about are your family, close friends, and maybe coworkers. The best way to promote gay acceptance, is be the best person that you can be.

I'm 48 years old (male), and I really didn't start to believe in and understand gay rights and equality, until some of my family members came out. That's when it hits home. So now I am a vocal supporter and defender of gay equality.

In the context of this message board, sexual preference really doesn't matter. Of course, if you can add a unique perspective in a sexuality thread, maybe we can learn from you.
