Looking for water cooled light systems?

Need three for 600w lights. Anybody know a good place to purchase? It would be huge if they can be retrofitted to my existing sunspot systems, as supposed to buying whole systems. If any one knows the answers to the above please post.

I remember one company that was selling water cooled lights. It was 2 layers of glass and the water was pumped inbetween. The link I had was not working but I will ask on another form if that company is still around.

Why water?

Why not Kool Tubes and a 6" vortex blower. It will be just as cool and cheeper, but that's just me.

I just can't get rid of the heat!!! My exhaust system has to run constant to keep room @ 90 degrees and thats with a/c @ the intake. Making Co2 enhancment useless. Exhaust is scaled to clear room in about 2 minutes but summer outdoor heat is killing me. Don't want cut more exhaust holes in rented unit and I am also running a closed system(exhausting indoors), so I thought water cooling was the way to go. I read it removes 80% of bulb heat @ 10% lumen loss. I have light movers so i figure my lights could practically touch the plants with the water cooling addition.

A vortex will move more air then a squirrel cage will. The design is just better, I run 3 of them but I still have several squirrel cage blowers on the shelf as a back up.

Cool tubs are 6" round glass and a good 6" vortex when you bring air in from the outside of the room and blow it through the light and back out the other side will work. I promise you do not run as many lights as I do and they work for me just fine.

If you are still having problems then it's something else that is missing we need to talk about.
You are growing indoors in a sealed room.
Where is your AC unit installed?
How are you venting the heat from the AC?
Is your ballast inside the room or outside the room?
When you vent the heat what are you doing with the air?

We need to get this problem fixed ASAP temperatures like that will turn your plants into hermies.

A/C is in adjacent room where the intake drawers from. The A/C heat exhausts outdoors through a window(A/C in Summer looks normal enough). The Ballast are in the room for reasons of concealment, but generate very little heat relative to the lights. Vented heat goes into a closet(veg room) which has a smaller exhaust system of its own(aswell as doors open). From the closet it enter a living room on an open floor plan with the kitchen(A/C intake room) in which the warm air is recycled into cold air.

Scenario

I flex-Tube my intake through the three lights with the aid of several 80cfm in-line fans and have them run constant regardless of exhaust being on or off. Rather than having the lights exhaust outside the room, the flex-tube empties several feet from the carbon exhaust filter within the room. When exhaust activates, it should still effectively exchange the room's air and the velocity at which the cool air travels through the lights will be increased. Will this create cooler conditions, or ultimately will room temp be the same by the time the air exits the 3rd light? I think funneling the cool air directly through the limited sq area of the lights is better than a general purpose in-take for the over-all room.

Some Success. The room floats between 80-85 degrees(based on outdoor temp). The room exhaust is active more than I would like it for reasons of Co2 enhancement, but I suppose if I get a larger exhaust this will help. Also will reposition my lights to have straighter lines in my flex tube. Right now there are 5 90 degree bends, I can shorten it to 3 bends. Also thought perhaps running flex tube from 3rd light through a cooler of ice and water. dont know If this will have an effect at the velocity the air is running, but the real fun in growing is the discoveries one comes up with through experimentation.

Yes I do think your runs are too long. You could install an inline duct fan that would help.

The lights should draw air from outside your room and exhaust the outside as well. You should not be exhausting the air from your lights inside your room. Keep the run's short and as little bends as possible. You should only need to run your exhaust every 6 hours or so if you are using CO². A mister will help to keep the temperature down and raise the humidity and that's good for plants.
