light and clones?
I know its high pressure sodium 400watt so dont worry about that.
I have a few Questions
1. I still need to know what the light is best for , flowering, veg?
2. What the spectrum specifcations on hps are i.e more blue or red spectrums?
3. Is It good enough to use from start to finnish?
4. I am also was wondering what height of a plant is it best to start flowering for instance 2ft or 1.5 ft or what?
5. If you have a plant in veg and the light period is 12/12 will it force flowering on the young plants?
6. If the preflowers are visable and you change the photoperiod to 20/4 from 12/12 on a very young plant will this harm the plant or cause the buds to form at an early age or what?
I also have some questions about cloning when is the best time to start Cloning and where on the plant should i cut the clones from and what photoperiod should the Clones have?taderick Reviewed by taderick on . light and clones? light and clones?
1.You have a 400w HPS ballast then pick up one of the Enhanced spectrum bulbs like Hortilux you can veg and flower with just one bulb.
2.Red spectrum is good for flowering and Blue spectrum is vegetation. Enhanced bulbs are color shifter to produce more blue then standard bulbs.
3.Yesâ?¦see 1 & 2
4.The height will depend on the area of your grow room. The plant will still continue to grow even in the flower stage. On average 30-45 dayâ??s of veg then switch to flower cycle for another 50-65 dayâ??s
5.Veg light cycle is 18-6 minimum flower cycle is 12/12 so if you are running lights for flower cycle your plants will switch to flower cycle.
6.It will switch to flower cycle once the light is switched to 12/12
7.Clones are best taken when the plant is in veg cycle. You cut them just before you switch to flower cycle. Make sure you know what plant each clone is taken from. If one of the plants turns out to be male you can trash just those clones and not the others. You take clones from the end of stocks shoots that have a main growth and several leaves on each shoot. You do not need to take it back to the stock if you just clip the end the shoot will grow back and still flower.
I assume you have already sexed your plants.
