My bubbler was always getting clogged....after trying hangers, pins, paperclips etc.....It was annying and not pratical. Go to any cooking store or even a Linens and Things....ask for a CAKE TESTER. I personally like the XO one....has a fat rubber handle to hold on and a very durable metal pipe for cleaning out the old nugs. Remember.....a clean hitting pipe is a happy pipe!! Mine is about a year old.....still in perfect shape and only cost .99

or if you play guitar (or bass is even better) the next time you change strings, cut one off about 2 inches above the ball (the part of the string next to the bridge). You get a handy little cleaner thats flexible too.
