"The only way our enemies can succeed is if we forget the lessons of Sept. 11 â?? if we abandon the Iraqi people to men like Zarqawi and if we yield the future of the Middle East to men like bin Laden." He referred to fugitive terror leaders Osama bin Laden, whom the United States holds responsible for the Sept. 11, 2001, terror attacks; and Abu Musab al-Zarqawi, a Jordanian responsible for scores of attacks in Iraq.
I'm amazed! Bush speaks on TV and the bashers haven't responded? Why? Hasn't prisonplanet had a chance to think for you yet??Psycho4Bud Reviewed by Psycho4Bud on . It's hard to criticize someone who doesn't say anything.
Tonight's "speech" was nothing more than a collection of soundbites used for a couple years now to try and shore up support for the war. When W. says something new and specific, there may be something worth commenting on.

I also like how he didn't mention anything on the WMDs which was our main reason for going to "Spread Democracy". I also like how said Timetables are dangerous. This comes from the same guy who called out Clinton, for him not having time tables for Kosovo. Hypocrits. IMO, as stated earlier on another thread, also by many political analysis the Iraqi situation could last well into a decade. If Bush told that to the American Public, his approval ratings would drop even lower. Not like it would matter.. Check out this poll from CNN

It's funny. Before the war, the Bush Adminstration clearly stated time and time again, Iraq would not be a long deal. Hmmmmm. Liars.

The speech offered no new policies or course corrections, and for the most part was a restatement of the ideas and language that he has been employing for two and a half years...
It was, in essence, a repeat of a speech he delivered 13 months ago, when he assured the nation during an appearance at the Army War College that while the job of achieving stability in Iraq would be hard, he had a plan......he is right there it is called PNAC..
Bottom line is he was willing to manipulate intelligence to promote his own agenda and He failed to send our troops in with what they needed to fight and he failed to plan adequately for what would happen once Saddam Hussein was deposed....He did not listen to his generals and he is the worst CNC that we have ever had.
It is amazing that on the same day Bush used the soldiers at Fort Bragg as a backdrop for his address on Iraq, conservatives in the House have voted to underfund veteransâ?? health care by at least $1 billion.....
http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn...062301888.html
ABC's Terry Moran reported that the only time Bush got applause was in the middle of his speech when a White House advance team member started clapping all on their own in order to cajole the soldiers into clapping, which they dutifully did.
So even the applause was fake....
Bush wasted his opportunity giving a speech that only answered questions no one was asking....surprise surprise
