quick question...help..
Hey my ISP just called to tell me I had a virus, does that mean they are watching my shit? Im freaking out! Maybe im being paranoid. Can they give any info to the police about what I do on my puter?

I'm pretty sure your ISP can tell what you do on the net. That's how they catch people for using filesharing progs. They would have to have a warrant or something to give that info to the police though, so I really wouldn't worry about it.

ok, im just freaking out....but cops need a warrant to access that info, and in order to gain a warrant they need probable cause....phew ok, i feel a little better.

no worries...their software just caught an incoming most likely on your email. i've gotten a couple over the years (both thru email) but my isp just emailed me about it. i think it's cool yours took the next step and notified you right away. but even though they have the tools to follow your movements i wouldn't worry about it unless you're involved in some heavy shit. they don't have the time or manpower...

Your ISP will monitor your email output (to avoid spammers) and your downloading bandwidth. It would have to be really extreme, and there is fine print in your agreement, which backs them up.
Your ISP can cooperate w/law enforcement, if required, but otherwise, they'll just cash your checks and leave you alone.

yah no worries man...had a virus on my computer once and isp disconnected us from the internet because it was a danger to them somehow....neways only reason tehy knew or cared was because teh virus kept pinging an ip every time a keystroke was hit....but i guess my point is no they don't give a shit and no that doesn't mean they're watching
