... although, you could make a case at least in men that there are phsical withdrawl symptoms in the case of sex.

    To bongo:
Please let us know what drugs it is that you currently use, and which you are trying to stop. You obviously have your reasons, so I won't hound you on why are stopping...

Yeah, only at a place like this would people be telling you NOT to quit taking drugs.

And as for weed being phsyically addictive, that just hasn't been proven anywhere. The opposite has been proven. People can psychosomatically create physical side effects, though. When I get stressed I get an upset stomach and usually end the day with a good puke. It's not like I have ulcers or anything, it's just the psychological factor.

Dick, stress is a major cause of stomach ulcers. I had one before I was 18 (most likely from stress, and diet [I like spicey food]). You might want to check it out. I found out about mine while getting an upper gastro-instinal x-ray for some unrelated issue.

Word man. Everyone should try and quit smoking for a week to see what happens when you quit.

There were mass studies on rats back in the day to understand their cognition, behavior, etc. One of the more interesting was when the rats were hooked up with an electrode planted in their lymbic system, the "pleasure center" of the brain, the rats would press down a bar that triggered the electrode over and over until they passed out from exhaustion. So, a psychological addiction could be really hard to kick. But I'm not a quitter.

Best thing i've found to do is find something that'll keep you preoccupied. Try coffee, gum, lots of sex..... Find something you want really bad, like a new TV or something and start saving your money for that. Don't take any money out with you that you might use to buy drugs.
thats a setup for a huge relapse.
