If anyone can explain in a simple way how this is done,,,,I'd be grateful. I do understand that THC is not water soluable.

What baffles and betwixts me is how and why ice is used in the process.

ya take your trimmings and i use those looser buds from the bottom of plants and dry em and freeze. get a bag of ice (1 bag of cubed ice will be enough for 12 oz's or so), a bucket to fit the bubble bags you bought (i have the 7 bag, 5 gal system) and put a couple oz's into the bucket. add enough water to cover and some ice...ya want the water 'ice cold', cold enough to hurt but do not over-do the ice. practice will perfect your method. then take a mixer (i use a drill with paint mixer attachement...clean of course) and mix for 15-20 minutes. this knocks off the trichomes which fall to the bottom. i then take the mixture which looks like a slurry by now and begin the sifting process, which is just a matter of pouring the slurry into bags and letting them drain into the next size smaller one, thus removing everything but the trich's for most excellent hashish!

iow, all the water does is gets cold and makes the sifting easier. nothing is added beyond water, solid and liquid form. the trich's can then be pressed by hand into the desired shape and left to dry for a few days.
