I think you can tell something about an artist's talent by the way his work endures. I've been playing and listening to Hendrix since '67 or so; God, that's almost 40 years! I still haven't gotten tired of his work, still notice something I hadn't heard before from time to time. And I guess I'm not the only one. The Wind Cries Mary was one of the first of his songs I learned to cover. One well constructed song; along with Little Wing, Castles Made of Sand, House Burning Down, Angel, etc. I'm not sure I know exactly what a genius is, but I think he was one.
