Well what I was told is that they don't really need light, but it can help start em up. Also that they don't need much light to get going, or for it to be very bright. I just can't leave it out in the open though.

I definitely have fuzz growing. I don't think it was there when I started. I just hope it's the right fuzz, and not mold of some kind.

And is that layout even effective? edit: I forgot, I heard that light can help, so today I put a flashlight in the chest and left it on. I haven't had that there for the past few days (don't remember how long it's been in there, couldn't be longer than four days). Also, it's Hawaiians, if that makes a difference.
