Should I use HPS or Fluro

Ive brought a 1000w HPS light to put in my grow closet, Ive heard that they use loads of electric and generate shed loads of heat. Is it possible to use fluro's for the veg stage and then use the HPS for flowering? Does this affect the quality of the buds? Any suggestions what and how many fluro's I would need? Any input would be greatly appreciated.

Fluoros are not that good for the entire veg stage (although it can be done with bad results) but if you have a warm white and a cold white fluoro together maybe even a few of them they should be good for the first stages because they will promote root growth.
Ill say use the HPS maybe you shouldnt have bought a 1000 watt depends on how big the room is and shit.

Yes your floro's can be used for the entire veg period with excellent results.

Make sure they have a kelvin temp of 6400 - 6500 and make sure they are true FULL SPECTRUM...not equivelents.

You can buy online from many places.

You will want about 125W per plant. Not cheap, but better for veggin that HPS.

Cheaper to run and less heat. Look for something like these.

The rooms about 3.5x3.5 foot an about 6 foot high, so you think I should just get some normal strip lights one of each colour and stand them in the closet until they are properly rooted in the bubblers and then switch over to the HPS. What sort of wattage or size should I look for in the fluro's. Sorry for all the questions I just want everything to go smoothly and to have same quality bud to smoke.

hmmmmmm hmmmmm i had thoughts like this and still have, i am planning to do my second grow....anyway, did some thinking and found out the following conclusions....since you grow with bubbler (a hydroponics type if i am not mistaken) and your space is limited plus you have a BIG light(with no BIG fans and cooltube and etc. expensive equipment) and somehow limited head space do the following.....fill the entire growing space with plants....as many as your setup can handle......grow them for 3-4 weeks in vegetation using floros.....they should reach a foot in height by then.....hang the 1000 watt hps light on the top of the closet@ 6ft....to use it safely ,the distance between the light and the plants should not be less than 2 ft.....meaning that the top height of your plants in full maturity can be up to 3ft (i take that the setup uses one foot of vertical space from the start).....try to add a fan blowing air on the light and one blowing air on the plants....also open holes in the low parts of the closet for air intakes and on the upper parts for ventilation......with the hps light in there you will get 100 watts/sqft....i would expect HUGE buds to come out of a closet like this, only the heat is the problem......use hps and do a sea of green....

1000w hps is way too big for a closet!!! If you within the 30 day return policy, swap it for a 400w HPS and a 250w metal halide for vegging. If your 30 days is up try to barter on this site for the same deal. get some fans and the flouros are good for seedlings and clones.

If I were you and I was doing what you are doing, I would use MH AND HPS for flower, you will want a 2:1 MH ratio over HPS.

HPS provides very little in way of UV Rays and MH provides substantial levels of it.

MJ will produce MORE resin to protect the flowers from those UV Rays at the 2:1 ratio.

    HAPPY GROWING

You can use the HPS system just use a Eye Hortilux Bulb with it or a hetal halide conversion bulb.
