hi laura just thought i would add to your knowledge bank: wild lettuce is a source of a mild narcotic, but it's in the seeds...i saw a special on some "discovery channel-esque" on tv about a tribe that takes tons of the wild lettuce seeds and they have a mechanical press they made that smushes down all of the seeds and an oil drains out...supposedly very relaxing, similar to opium, but it put the men in a good sexual mood and enhanced their erections, as for women, probably like opium...there's evidence of the use of this narcotic that dates as far back as ancient egypt (it's written in some tombs, they even drew pictures of men drinking it and getting massive hardons lol)

Well it looks like I won't be having access to stronger drugs (and unfortunately by stronger I mean marijuana) because my hippie friends are holding out on me. Anyway, it led me into a nice interest in botany if you will ;) and i came across some herbs that you can apparently get high off of. So far all I have is damiana, passion flower, and scullcap.
