Generally, throughout history the white man has always wanted to monopolize everything in sight for the prospect of money, gold, or whatever else may be of value...this will continue well after we have passed I imagine. That aside, if your claim is accurate, then I must have a lot more 'rasta' in me than I was aware. I haven't taken any time out to scrutinize the religion, but I have always thought that marijuana should be a gift of sorts passed from one man to the next. For example, I have given marijuana away to people I knew just because they may have gone without longer than myself. I am just that type of person; some people may call me a fool.
Back to subject, I have long contemplated on whether or not to get dreadlocks. I came to the conclusion that I probably would not enjoy the attention gained for getting them, also the fact that they don't fit my personality (in my opinion). I will just stick to my long so-called "Hippie hair".
Oh yeah, it was not my intention to make generalizations against the white man. It's just you can read history and see for yourself, they are usually at the root of a lot of problems.
not white man, more like rich people and politicians are at the root of a lot of problems.

That is sort of what I was implying. Sorry if it wasn't clear. It's just that from what I have read, these aristocrats happen to be predominately white.
When I typed my first reply I had the Europeans "founding" of the Americas in mind. It creates a sense that the only thing they saw in America was money in form of resources.
i used to have dreadlocks; i'm a chick, who does shave, and does know the joys of personal hygeine. my hair neither stunk nor looked gross. i showered/washed my hair on a regular basis. i may not be "high maintenance" but i'm not a grimy slob.
