You realize you can't wash your hair for a year while it grows, right?

ha yea i had to get my hair cut after the rents busted me smokin and just to piss em off i decided to stop doing anything to my hair so it would eventually dread up. luckily after 2 days i looked at that site and realized that was a stupid idea. so in about a year it should be long enough and i'm gonna be that stereotypical college pothead with dreads who plays at coffeeshops for tips to pay for food

yep. I've got dreads. This summer they'll be 5 years old. I've tried all ways of getting my hair to lock, from natural no washing and combing to backcombing and perm solution.
rescently I've bleached them and coloured them orange again. I put about 4 synthetic strands through them to give it all more volume.
looks like fire! but yeah I've got a best friend as hairdressers so...
oh and I placed dreadlocks for a friend. It took about 6 hours of intense backcombing.
I could talk all day long about dreads...but I better go take a shower. adios.

I have em, if you didnt notice. For fucking 13 years and havent been cut, combed once.
and you can wash em. do it with bar soap. that has no other stuff to get stuck in em.
so jus lett it do its thing. It will clump more if you are active and sweat and bounce it while running. it will get salt chrystals to tangle them and then they leave when in water leaving baby locks

let me advise.....we chicks are not crazy about dreadlocks, unless you like the hairy underarm, no makeup natural type. you can't run your fingers through them, people judge you harshly, (think it doesn't matter? don't fool yourself, a cop would not search the car of a straight looking young person, sport some dreds and one sticker on your car, prepare for your beatdown) If you don't keep on a pretty high maintenence schedule then they stink and look gross, and it is a very dated look.
Dissagree at your own peril, but I am a hot and high maintenence chick, with hot and high maintenence chick friends, it seems universal among us that your personality, wallet and cock would all have to be huge for us to get over the dread situation.

Dreads aren't my thing. I'll take my normal long hair any day.
