Warning Young People the Army is out to get you

im glad i dont live in america.
squeak Reviewed by squeak on . Warning Young People the Army is out to get you you need to know that the Army is busily exploiting a provision in the No Child Left Behind law that allows recruiters to go into public schools receiving federal funding, gain access to students' personal data and cultivate potential recruits with a virtually unfettered hand. According to an Army manual, savvy recruiters should eat in the school cafeteria, befriend administrators, bring coffee and donuts for teachers and buddy up to team captains and student body presidents to win the hearts Rating: 5

i find it odd how the ones that scream 'i got rights 'wont fight anyone but their own country men for them,THEY NEVER SERVE IN THE MILITARY.
they will bash a nieghbors head for a ten foot strip of wiasted land
but wont think of being in the service and protect the entire country.
why should they do anything for anyone?
how can people understand most jion trying to get out of POVERTY,they have not much to lose ,you say welll they could lose thier lifes, but to them LIFE aint so good and they want it to get better to the piont of risking it all
you must be there or have been to understand,
do i recommend the army, hell no
but if one wants to jion it i will just thank him or her for whatever reason they jion THEY will serve my nation as my goverment sees fit,and whatever they get out of it im happy for,if it cost them their lives im saddened by it.
they jion up to help themself, some jion to be hero's not many do that.but it can cost you everything even your last breath.
and it can open doors for your future.
life is not easy for 99% of the world
we all cant be lifeguards on some nice beach and get paid big bucks
some people have to risk it all just to exist,or have a future they seek.
so dont go acting like those that jion dont know they risk alot they know
its not no secret its a shootin war,
regardless of what i think they should do in iraq and afghanistan
the young people who jion up and VOLUNTEER,do so for the benifits it can bring and they decide to do it or not
some people seem to think they TRicked into it,or something
everyone knows recruiters lie,but everyone knows there is a war too
and deciding to jion up now is totally different than before it started
i feel sad for all the young lives lost, they only wanted to better themself
the us goverment polocies cost alot, sad but true, changes are needed but not having a military AINT ONE OF THEM

    peace

    ps
agian THANKS for all who serve,or have served.

*cough* bullshit *cough* My one brother went in at 17 and let me tell you, there were a shit load of forms for my mother and father to fill out. I was 18 when I went in the first time, and they STILL called my parents and asked about me. As someone already said, if you go into the military and expect to not fight, your just downright stupid. No ifs ands or buts with that.
    Love and peace is great.
But who is going to protect the peaceful people?

*cough* bullshit *cough* you should really do something about that cough...

recruiting today is not the same as even a few months ago...

There is no excuse for tatics like this...

Recruiter: "You don't want to be a burden to your mom," they told him. "Be a man." "Make your father proud." Never mind that, because of his own experience in the service, Marcia says enlistment for his son is the last thing Axel's dad would have wanted.

Next thing Axel knew, the same sergeant and another recruiter showed up at the LaConner Brewing Co., the restaurant where Axel works. And before Axel, an older cousin and other co-workers knew or understood what was happening, Axel was whisked away in a car.

"They said we were going somewhere but I didn't know we were going all the way to Seattle," Axel said.

Just a few tests. And so many free opportunities, the recruiters told him.....

he was 18. He was not a kid, he signed papers without reading them...if he wasn't interested in joining why did he keep leading the serge on with taking theses tests and talking to him? I would have been one pissed off recruiter too. I feel for him, but he brought it on himself. I have helped set up recruiting booths within the last few months actually, and our orders were not to waste time with anyone that did not come to us first. Get your facts straight.

18 is still a kid.......you can't even drink but you can kill....

the point is not that the 18 year old kid was dumb it is that the recruiters are resorting to BS tactics...

whenever they call me i just say sorry my brother signed up for the free shit under my name i really don't want to join the military.

while i don't support our reasons for going to war in iraq, i respect the people who put their lives on the line. i'm definitely not cut out for the army, and am more interested in what goes on in this country quite frankly. but to all those who want to join, more power to you.
