interesting thing about music

U know im listening to a kinda vast repertory of music, and i looked at this and for me, all the best music needs to be used to listen to. i mean the firsts time u listen to some you dont find it pretty good but after many listening it becomes for you some really good music.

and all popular "catching" music is like cool this music is good, the first time you hear it, then u just get bored. i listen to some music since 3-4-5 years and never got bored.

i hate commercial music!

i also hate commercial music....although if you want to be famous its gotta be done (i figure)
however it depends what you mean by commercial because if you mean people being on tv and the radio...i think thats cool...i get to see the bands i like on the tv and hear the when there are no cd's around.
I fyou mean selling out...changing the music so that it is liked by a lot of people...that sucks...

To me good music has to be.....something that sounds good to me...i guess there is no other way for me to explain it.

when i say commercial, i dont mean good music that a lot of ppl listen to. for example, metallica, iron maiden, nirvana, hendrix is all very very popular music but not "commercial". i meant the commercial style, like shit like britney spears, all very cheap ass rap, and more. u know music that the singer is not even the composer, and that means nothing but shit.

yep, the secret to make good music is to love it. no matter what you will continue playing music. I know a group, french group, and one of the very very rare real punk group that still make it just because they love it and they are really really popular (when they came here in Québec last year there was about 50 000 persons), and they make their shows for FREE.

even before they were working coz their band didnt make enough money, even if they were pretty popular. anyway lol, i just hate that really popular groups make their fuckin tickets sooooo expensive.

Mellow... I know what you mean in reference to your first post. There is a cylce I go through with really different music (especially ethnic music, just because I get so little ethnic music pushed at me). My first reaction is oh thats different. Next is, this is kind of boring it all sounds the same. Next is wow there is alot going on here, this music is phenomenal, its so superiour to anything I've ever listened to. Next I find the basic patterns and realize, its not as fantastic as I orginally thought. Finally I come to a conclusion about the music. Either it has enough interesting stuff in it, and is not just a novelty... or its just a novelty.

I'm mildly synesthetic, so I am drawn to music that looks &/or feels good to me. I can't really describe it, but when I come across such music, it immediately clicks for me. Sometimes others agree with me, sometimes I get odd looks, sometimes people crack up laughing, but hey, music is such a personal experience for me.

I guess I'm a musical hedonist... all about just what feels good.
