purple haze

There are hundreds of threads on the internet discussing whether or not "Purple Haze" was or is a real strain or if it still exists today.
The consensus seems to be that there was a strain of sativa called Purple Haze in the late seventies to mid eighties. Some say the CIA wiped it out and few people deny that the original strain no longer exists. If it had someone likely would have commercialized that, but on the seedbanks there are many varieties of Haze and Purple doesn't seem to be one of them.
Then you awlays have the person on a message board who claims to have obtained some real purple haze for some outrageous price, or knows somebody who smoked it before for real, or even grows it themselves. Right.
It is some what hard to believe these people really got Purple Haze or any Haze strain for that matter because Haze has a long flowering time and relatively low yield. It seems to me this would make commercial growing impractical.
You can also try to make your buds purple by lowering the temperature in the grow room.

i'm not trying to debate this but i'm s ure out there somewhere some grower still has an on going crop of it....i mean to think that it is extinct throughout the whole world is kinda dumb

leavin them out for a few days longer then u wanted to (in cool nights of the fall) before harvesting will cause most bud to go purple. Some strains discolor to purple faster then others.

purple haze is a strain of weed, very hard to find now. It's just haze, that's turned purple because of the temperature as zig zag said.

Purple haze that jimi is reffering to is a type of acid... very good acid in the 60's/70's

I know peep that intentionally let the tops go purple as it nets them a few more hundred per lb.

I'm not fallin for that.....if i get high on 1 or 2 tokes its killer bud. 3 tokes its very good.

if it takes more then 3 tokes Im not coming back for more.
