PM's and E-Mail?

I notice on mods public profile/contact info, links to PM and we all have a link to E-mail. But they don't work. Would someone care to enlighten me? Is the only way to cantact a fellow poster, on the board? Ron, I thought this was supose to be an improvement over MariHemp. At least there we can email one another. Obviously I was wrong when I thought that PM was a part of this message board. HELP!!!! N2 :!)

PM system is disabled for regular users.

Gold Members may send PMs. The primary reason for the restriction is PM spam - there are various scripts out there that allow one to bulk PM people on vBulletin boards.

The Gold Membership on-line signup system will be up later this month.

However, we are accepting Gold Membership signups now via postal mail.

Please excuse my apparent stupidity, but IF the email option is in my 'User Control Panel', I can't find it. Could you please guide me to it?, or is it also disabled like the PM for us regular, non-gold, members? Thanks. N2

Email system is disabled for everyone.

Email as implemented in vBulletin (and as with other board systems too) can greatly increase server load; there are issues with handling email bounces, forged headers, etc too.

With all that said, email may be enabled for Gold Members only... I'll look into seeing if it can be realistically done.

So if you can't access email, what the point of
"Email:Send a message via email to (whomever)"? why even have it there, cause I was wondering the same thing.
