Yeh, the OUTSIDE is made of aluminum. But what of the insides? See you cant hold the story together. Every plane crash INCLUDING American Airlines leaves alot of wreckage. You know that! Now suddenly, the plane parts MAGICALLY disintegrate? Cmon.

The ENTIRE airframe is made of aluminum. The struts, the bulkheads, everything. And how many of those other crashes had ended with the plane hitting a steel-reinforced concrete wall? I will tell you: none. There is a HUGE difference between a plane hitting the ground at shallow angle at takeoff or landing speeds and one hitting a concrete wall at cruising speed. besides, there was plenty of debris recovered from the Pentagon site.

And Ill bet you'd still sit there and say that a plane hits a wall gets shredded to bits and leaves a nice neat hole. Does that really make sense to you? "contributing to the widening of the hole" a nice neat spherical hole?

It makes perfect sense. Even though the bits of aircraft are all shredded up at impact, they still carry a significant amount of kinetic energy. Just like a soft lead bullet can penetrate a much harder target due to inertia and forward momentum, alumimum aircraft parts can still punch holes in concrete. And if not round, what shape WOULD you expect the hole to be?

I respect your authority as a mod but why do you say that noones said anything when they HAVE?

Not really. I trust the NTSB investigators far more than I trust the opinion of the average Joe on the street. Opinions are like assholes: everyone has one and they all stink. I'll take facts over opinion any day.
