I seen that program and what a pile of shit it was. They were saying how much stronger weed is these days than it was in the 60's - 70's, bollocks. Stronger strains are more available these days but there was still super strong weed years ago. It's like saying bananas weren't yellow in the 60's or something. If it did cause phsycotic illnesses then there would be an epidemic, how many people smoked weed in the 60's and 70's? There would be millions of schizophrenics or whatever running round the streets.

Did somebody say that one addiction can't cure another? Ever hear of methadone?

Take a look at what I wrote. Quote "Alcoholics are addicted to alcohol for numerous reasons, but they won't just magically switch to another drug that doesn't have the same effect."

I'm assuming you've been drunk as well as stoned. Its pretty obvious that weed and alcohol have very different effects (both long term and short). An addict is someone looking for a means to an end. They are addicted to the state of mind, not the drug itself (although the end result is the same). You can switch from heroin to methadone because they have similar effects, but you can't play paint by narcotics.
