In the middle of the Paramount lot they have a fake city set up to represent various decades in the life of NYC. I too used to break and smoke a J in the privacy of the unused set lots.

Life on the lots was good. I ran all over cause I did five shows. Used to have to push thru throngs of star trek characters to get into my one show, it was across from one of the main star trek sets.

Which reminds me -- one day my good friend came down with me to the lot one Sunday to help me work out a problem. After it was better, we took a walk around the near deserted lot. Oddly enough, the door to one of the Star Trek movie set was was left open. We walked in and were on a recreation of the original enterprise set, captains chair, bridge, hallways and all. Well, you can guess what happened next -- yes, sitting right there in the captains chair. And we got away un-noticed.

Another time, Tina Turner was belting out some tunes for a Hane's commercial -- I stopped and watched that for a while. Shit, I should never have left -- it was a fun time of my life. And yeah, I had access to a golf cart myself -- though I never took it. There was a lot more to be seen walking.
