That is so true...To me religion is just a way for people to follow something in their lives. But what if at the end, whatever happens to you after you die is based on your judgements and thoughts as to what it would be like...I mean I believe there is something else after I die...but a lot of people may disagree. But look at it this way...when you were a foetus, in your mothers womb...you were probably thinking...'this is it, this is my life, there is nothing else after this',..but then you are born...what if this life is just another stage and there is 'stage 3'? When (if) mankind ever truely discovers the answer to the question of whether there is some kind of god or not, and we finally know which, if any, of the religions are right, I think we'll then shrug our shoulders and say "Now what?".
