The server ran out of free memory.

It appears there were some extraneous processes that were never fully shutdown; memory leak(s)?

The server was just rebooted and it appears the memory usage is back to normal levels.

The problem before was definitely *not* due to message board user load. A remote possibility is that an obscure kernal bug in Linux involving swap memory and multiple processors, that we ran into in the past, that was thought corrected, may not be.

Anyways, thank you everyone for the trouble reports. They greatly help us in keeping things running smoothly.
