I think Jamaica has a bad rap. When we went, I was sure I wasn't going to leave the resort. Heard all kinds of shit about how people will jump on your car, attack you, and try to take your money. Well, everyone of the locals we met were awesome. No one wanted to do anything but share weed. LOL
China backing N.Korea scares the piss right outta me pisssssssssssssssss
Actually, it's doubtful China would back North Korea. Especially if North Korea, and not the U.S., was to start something. China doesn't really view North Korea as it's communist brother, more like some fucked up cousin that they don't want to be bothered with. Even the first time around China didn't get involved until we got too close to their border, it wasn't so much about helping North Korea as it was keeping us away from themselves.
Anyhow, a lot is different now than it was back then. They are just as concerned about North Korea as we are. China has one of, if not the, fastest growing economy in the world and is really starting to prosper. Theyv'e got a good thing going now and don't want anything like a war in the region to screw it up.
Good point Buzz, but I think the U.S. has learned a lot from the mistakes in Vietnam. Plus I think it depends a lot on what "winning" means. If Noth Korea were to suddenly launch an invasion of South Korea they'd get spanked, hard. If, however, we were to invade North Korea with the intent of uniting the North and South under the South's leadership...well, that would be a bit tougher.
Coule be, wooman. We were in the Negril area...but I guess you can say that ANY city/country has more dangerous areas--even in the US. When traveling, I think if you use the same common sense you would anywhere else, you'd be fine. Unless you were totally stoned, and didn't pay any attention to what you were doing anyhow. LOL

Your awesome, lol you made me learn something....I think lol?
Not sarcasm, I am actually fearful to visit those places. Wouldn't you?
Ah, your thinking scary to visit, not scary to the U.S or world stability. But all of those places? Misstree, I think you need to get out of the house a bit. Just kidding, most of those places are pretty messed up. Mexico's not too bad though. Depends on where you go. I wouldn't want to hang out in Mexico City but there are a lot of cool places with friendly people, and not just at the resorts.
Oh yeah, congrats on even knowing about Bougainville.
